JonBenet Ramsey was born August 6, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a six year old beauty queen who was found brutally murdered in her parents' home on December 26, 1996 in Boulder Colorado. Her father John Ramsey was a wealthy businessman for a computer services company and a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin. Her mother Patsy Ramsey was a socialite and a former Miss West Virginia beauty in 1977. It was one of the biggest and most famous murder cases to hit Boulder, Colorado that turned the local media into a feeding frenzy. Local journalists began to do their own investigations and came up with their own theories of how JonBenet Ramsey was killed. "Patsy had a philosophy of letting our kids experience whatever they wanted to do," John said in an interview with Katie Couric. "JonBenet wanted to try pageants, and she was an extreme extrovert and she loved to sing." The media did all they could to paint John and Patsy as the killers, even going so far as ignoring evidence that proved their innocence and spreading false stories that John Ramsey had been sexually abusing his daughter for years.
