In order to evaluate the competing issues and predictive elements of an outpatient clinic opening one mile from the hospital the Grossman model will be utilized. Competing Issues Free-standing outpatient clinics create tough competition for hospitals. Clinical practice changes and innovations in technology have allowed more services to be performed outside the hospital. The centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have also propagated with the trend by providing higher reimbursement rates (Olsen, 2015). With clinical and technological advances along with improvements in sedation and anesthesia-monitoring techniques the outpatient push is showing little sign of slowing (Olsen, 2015).

Basic elements of effective communication construct patients and caregivers by sharing concerns and building trust. There is so much information available now that is making people build their self-confidence and part of effective communication distinguishing between helpful and harmful information. The basic rules of health care communication involve costs. Since there have been stricter review processes, referral systems, and reimbursement guidelines, many people worry about getting optimal care because they opt for managed care which saves them money (du Pre, 2005). Even Medicaid has accountability for quality.
Annotated Bibliography LYT2 Task 2B – Solution Recommendation In order for NHS to satisfy its requirement to transmit large medical imaging files in a timely and secure manner, they must be able to subscribe to circuits of the appropriate bandwidth at each remote office to address the local needs. Unfortunately, the remoteness of some of these locations have resulted in the limitation of network connectivity options. Therefore, the cost-effective alternative to expensive, high-bandwidth internet circuits is to use a WAN optimization solution. A WAN optimization solution consists of a network appliance at each location that focuses on increasing network performance. It accomplishes this through the use of a combination of data compression, content and object-caching, data deduplication and protocol optimization.
Therefore, the EMR includes the standard clinical and medical data collected in the provider’s office that includes a coherent and more comprehensive patient history. For instance, EHRs are intended to share and also contain information from every provider who is involved in the patient’s care (Moczynski, 2009). Markedly, EHR data can be managed, created, and consulted by staff and providers who are authorized by various healthcare organizations. In addition to keeping patient records, doctors and nurses are able to access and retrieve information easily using EMR. EMR contains the treatment and medical history of patients in one practice.
I feel that the Pearland Health Center tends to provide the best care under intense circumstances. There are quite a bit of emergency facilities that do not the experience, expertise, equipment, and professional tolerance as do the Pearland Health Center. Usually, other facilities, in intense cases, will just ship a client off to the nearest major hospital in which may be an inconvenience to the client and their loved ones. For example, an emergency facility in Pearland only deals with minor issues, so if a case is major not only will they ship them off to the nearest major hospital but the hospital may be thirty to forty minutes away. I have to say that the Pearland Health Center will at least try to fix the issue before suggesting other
Cody Janowski 12/2/10 English Comp Assignment 4 The Internet has undoubtedly changed the way people live their lives. Any information we could possibly want- and more- is at our disposal, and has made life for us incredibly convenient and easy; some, however, might say too easy. One of these people is Nicholas Carr, author of the article “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” featured in the July/August 2008 edition of The Atlantic. Carr argues that the Net seems to be slowly demolishing our abilities to concentrate on one subject, as well as contemplate information, based on the ease of access to everything the Internet provides today. I agree with Carr to an extent; however I would say that his theory most certainly does not apply to everyone.
The Electronic Medical Record, Dollars or Sense? Anne Wolfersberger Ball State University Abstract In recent history, it has become increasingly necessary, that facilities, especially inpatient acute care hospitals, implement an electronic medical record. Clinical information technology is recognized by champions of healthcare quality as a means to save lives, improve less than optimal care, and reduce costs (J Healthcare Finance 2004). There are several advantages to adopting the EMR, from reducing preventable adverse drug events to improving drug prescribing. On the patient side it has been shown that patient compliance with medication regimens as well as follow up appointments and preventative care greatly increase with the
Name Communication Paper/ Electronic Medical Records (EMR) HCS 490 Date Instructor- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Many of years paper based medical records has been the main source for communication between health care providers, but with the current changes with technology and the advancements it offers has changed most of patient information from paper to electronic, this new change is an attempt to completely go away with paper and give providers an easier and quicker way to retrieve patients information. Most has found that using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) verses paper charts is a positive change. EMR is mainly used for documenting
The differences between paper medical records (PMR) vs. electronic paper records (EMR) are substantial. Electronic Medical record is a great outcome for the medical field. It will improve in patient care and enhance the way doctors’ and clinicians document. By having patients’ records electronic it will be easier in analyzing data if needed. It will provide other doctors with current patient care information, by just a click away.
