With various members undertaking solo projects or touring with other bands, and their lack of permanency in the lead guitar spot, the Peppers always seemed on the verge of breaking up. In 1999, though, they reunited the lineup that appeared on their 1991 breakthrough Blood Sugar Sex Magik and released the album Californication to critical and popular acclaim. The two men who have been Peppers from the beginning, vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bass player Michael Balzary, became close friends in high school in Los Angeles. They joined with fellow classmates Hillel Slovak on guitar and Jack Irons on drums to form the band Anthem. Their band, Anthem, ended shortly after the creation.
My hero is Billie Joe Armstrong. He is the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the punk/pop rock band Green Day. He is also a guitarist and vocalist for the rock band Foxboro Hot Tubs. Billie Joe Armstrong was born in Oakland, California, on February 17, 1972, and was raised as the youngest of six children in his family. His father called Andrew Armstrong worked as a jazz musician, and his mother called Olie Jackson worked at Rod`s Hickory Pit.
“My lovely man” is song about Hillel Slovak, previous guitarist of ‘Chili Peppers and a good friend of Michael ‘Flea’ Balzary and Anthony Kiedis, who passed away because of drug addiction. A.K. seems to be reminiscing on the times he shared with his beloved "brother", and the fact that he misses him, and he can't ever replace him, and he will see him again someday. “Under the Bridge” begins with Frusciante’s intro that became one the well-known intros in music. Page wanted to form a supergroup so he and bassist Chris Dreja began putting a new line up together.Terry Reid (Page's first choice for lead singer of the band) suggested Robert Plant, a Stourbridge singer for the Band of Joy and Hobbstweedle. Plant also recommended John Bonham to be chosen as the drummer when he accepted the position. When Dreja dropped out, John Paul Jones contaced Page about the vacancy which he succeeded in filling due to the fact Page had known Jones from his session days. The four played together for the first time in a room below a record store on Gerrard Street in London. “As soon as I heard John Bonham play”, recalled Jones, “I knew this was going to be great...we locked together as a team immediately.” They played in front of a live audience for the first time at Gladsaxe, Denmark, on 7th September 1968.
Lesane Parish Crooks also known as Tupac Shakur is one of the greatest artist of all time. He still influences the world even after his death. Tupac was born June 16, 1971 in East Harlem New York as the son of active members of the Black Panthers Party. After a few years his family moved to Marin City, California where his rap career began. He started writing lyrics in his High School where he also performed at concerts, the concert led to him being signend with Atron Gregory who set him up as a roadie and backup dancer with the young rap group Digital Underground in 1990.
During his time in jail, Berry joined a Gospel group and practiced his songwriting abilities. (Gulla 32) . After his release Berry began to get serious about his guitar playing, however he still often worked as a carpenter, took a few manufacturing jobs and trained as a hairdresser. He married Themetta Suggs, purchased their first home in St. Louis, he continued to play popular nightclubs in the area looking for his break. Berry’s friend Ira Harris taught him new guitar techniques that became the basis for the Chuck Berry sound.
His first musical inspirations were by such talents as: Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Little Richard. He formed several bands in high school like Shadow Blasters which was short-lived, but his next band, The Golden Chords, lasted longer and played covers of popular songs. After Dylan graduated from high school, he joined University of Minnesota in early 1959. University was where the thought of becoming a musical artist formed. Dylan begun to listen to folk and rock pioneers: Hank Williams, Robert Johnson and Woody Guthrie.
Since a little kid he knew that he wanted to be an artist, so he left high school to attend the Arts Student League, where he learned the technical skills on which he applied all through his career. In 1916, when Rockwell was just 22, he painted his first cover for The Saturday Evening Post, a magazine that had another 321 covers created by Rockwell, including the Triple Self-Portrait. Created in 1960, The Triple Self-Portrait shows three different views of himself, three different sides of him, created after a long and hard process. The picture shows pencils on the floor, a trash full of drafts and smoke, and on the left corner of his canvas there are five little self-portraits in different positions; all these elements showing what a hard time he had to come up with the painting. At the right corner of the canvas, there are pictures of four of the greatest artists that created self-portraits in history: Durer, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Picasso.
Carrey formerly a good student started working eight-hour shifts after school and his grades were dropping. Eventually the family gave away the factory work and moved into a VW campervan. Carrey’s Great Debut Carrey made his debut at the age of 15 at Toronto’s Yuk Yuk’s club wearing a yellow suit his mother made for him. Unfortunately he bombed badly. He eventually dropped out of high school at 16 to become a full-time comedian.
Being a musician and attending Berklee College of Music, The Beatles are always the big discussion at school. “There will never be a band that changed music history like The Beatles,” says my Ear Training teacher says. Since I can remember, The Beatles have always been an influence on me and continue to be in my music. This band brought so much inspiration and gave music a different view of life. This essay will consist on how these musicians took control of America and the impact it gave to us.
