(Sauberman) Ultimately, due to misjudgments and mistakes the Iroquois Theater burned down, killing a total of 602 people; because of this, stricter theater fire codes were passed. During Christmas vacation a play called Mr. Bluebeard was playing at the Iroquois Theater; and parents took their children to see it. At the beginning of the second act of the play, a spark from an arc light flared up and caught a drop curtain on fire. At first audience members didn’t think much of the flash of light, thinking it was part of the play. (Taylor) The spark then burst into flames, with the fire expanding rapidly behind the stage.
Even young children could see that the Vietnam War needed to end. A poem called “Afterthoughts on a Napalm-Drop on Jungle Villages Near Haiphong” written by 12 year old Barbara Beidler reads, “Then children flamed. Running – their clothes flying like fiery kites. Screaming – their screams dying as their faces seared.” This touched the hearts of many Americans. It tells of the horrors that the innocent men, women and children went through at the expense of Americans soldiers.

They also attempted to crash United Airline Flight 33 into the Capitol building, but the passengers tried to take control of the plane and ended up crashing the aircraft into a field located in Pennsylvania. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,996 civilians. News reporters caught multiple civilians jumping out of buildings hundreds of feet above ground, killing themselves trying to escape the burning jet fuel. Four hundred and eleven emergency rescuers died while trying to save lives in the burning buildings. This awful tragedy will remain in my life and I will take this horrible memory to my grave.
“ Creepers shivered p. 86 Irony Verbal irony- in lord of the flies when piggy says “ acting like a crowd of kids”! its ironic because they are a crowd of kids. Dramatic irony- when everyone thinks there is a beast, but we know that its just a dead man attached to a parachute. Situational irony- happens at the end when the fire jack set on the island that is meant to smoke out Ralph got the rescued. The buildings went up in flames as people attempted to flee from the ash, steel, glass, and bodies falling from above. Both buildings, which took a total of eight years to construct, collapsed in less than 90 minutes. That same morning, at 9:37, a third plane crashed into the Pentagon, just outside of Washington. After a few minutes of watching the same clip, I suddenly saw another plane crashing into the twin of the other building. I couldn’t believe it, I looked at my family and all you could see was the sorrow and angst in their faces as they sat with there mouths dropped open. As the cameras zoomed in on the masses of people covered with a grey ash, you could see in the background smoke swarming the air and then the first tower went tumbling down. That’s when it really hit me that our country was under attack. Since I was so young I didn’t really know that there were more planes than the two that had hit the Trade Center.
Faber is talking to Guy through the ear device and tells him to run, but Guy thinks of the mechanical hound, so instead he gets the grabs the flamethrower that Beatty was handing to him. Beatty hits Guy and the green bullet falls out, Beatty picks it up and says he’ll burst Guy’s friend, so Guy still having that flamethrower in his hand he burns Captain Beatty alive and the mechanical hound, too. “Why don't you belch Shakespeare at me, you fumbling snob?
To the cemetery. Work or the crematory-the choice is in your hands.” According to the book Eliezer says, “Never shall I forgot the smoke.
