Job Satisfaction of P&G Employees According to Glassdoor (2013), a website of job reviews, 1151 of Procter & Gamble’s employees posted their review and 88 percent of the employees recommended the company with 3.9 out of 5 stars and 94 percent approved of A. G. Lafley. Employees expressed what they were satisfied with the job and what they were dissatisfied with. For the most part employees are satisfied with their job at P&G because of Lafley’s transformational and innovative leadership or as Charles A. Millick would call it, “values- based leadership”, because he focuses a lot on openness and collaboration among his employees (2013). Most of P&G employees are satisfied with their job overall and enjoy the work they do. When employees are satisfied with their job they are more productive and effective which can explain how Lafley was able to increase more than double the sales, four times the profit, and increase market value by over $100 billion. Lafley provides employees feedback through a clear and constructive employee performance appraisal that grades them on their skills, performance, and capabilities so they can learn their strengths and weaknesses and what they perform well at or what they perform poorly at. Afterwards, together they can go over ways that could help the employees to improve their job performance and to fully participate in the success of the company. They enjoy working with their co-workers because it is a much diversified company with many intelligent employees from all over. Through P&G’s leadership development, coaching, and on the job training employees continue to learn and grow. Employees are trained to be a leader and allowed to voice their opinions and ideas. From entry level, employees are faced with responsibility and challenging assignments that keep the job interesting and a constant learning experience. (P&G, n.d.)
