If I had the ability to develop a Mt. Rushmore that represented the last century, there are only four people that come to mind: Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King Jr., Jimi Hendrix, and George Lucas. I feel as if these highly influential men have left quite an impression on, not only myself, but on American history. From one of the most famous faces of science to the man who changed the music industry completely, this is the Mt. Rushmore I would construct. 250,000 people were present at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963, when he gave the speech. Martin Luther King Jr., undoubtedly, should be on this monument. By giving his famous speech he changed the mindset of a quarter million people with a few simple words: “I have a dream.”…show more content…
It took a measly four years for this extraordinary man to leave his print on the musical world like Neil Armstrong’s foot print on the moon. Jimi Hendrix pioneered the explosive possibilities of the electric guitar, and the fact that he couldn't read music and still produce such beautiful pieces of art, completely stuns me. George Lucas, famous for the Star Wars franchise, has truly revolutionized the way we watch and hear movies. We cannot see a movie without Lucas having some sort of influence on it. He escorted the movie industry to the 21st century. With each movie he just pushed the envelope to higher grounds and concepts. By inventing the machinery to bring his dreams to life, George Lucas literally made those dreams into a bewildering reality. This, in fact, is the Mt. Rushmore that I would have constructed for the world to admire. I would be honored to be a part of such a project to give men that deserve it the most esteemed respect. I think, without these men stepping up and being different, the world would be boring and mundane. Einstein's scientifically influence, MLK's life-changing words, Hendrix's revolutionary music, and Lucas' movie magic were the most influential people of the last century and should should be sculpted on Mt.
