Jesus Christ Many people do not realize that you can be religious without being spiritual. A person can believe in a higher power without being labeled a Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, or Muslim. Many religions are based on the cause or guidance, not the actual higher beings. Individuals usually worship a prophet that lived or gods that have suffered. Christianity on the other hand involves a man. A man that was born of a virgin in which another man was sent to prepare others for his arrival. Jesus was a living and breathing person that not only lived but walked the earth. Christianity is based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded and written by his disciples. Jesus himself never wrote any accounts himself. He taught his followers orally, the only sources about what Jesus actually said and believed, are within the Gospels, which were written long after his lifetime. Many people fail to realize that Jesus actually was a human. Most see him as the savior and a heavenly manifestation in a human shell. We crave to understand Jesus. Historians are continuing to seek the human side of Jesus Christ versus the heavenly manifestation. Jesus’ story begins in Bethlehem. Jesus was born to Mary, a virgin, and Joseph. The bible however provides a decent recap of Jesus using Joseph as the family tree. The disciple Mathew describes the birth of Jesus in his gospel in the first chapter; now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
