Tim Blake October 30, 2009 Block 3 Ms. Burke The Frailties of Divinity An Inspirational leader is someone who has the ability to inspire people to achieve greatness, allowing for a follower to understand and realize the passion the leader has for the desired goal. Jesus and Moses are two of the greatest inspirational leaders the world has ever seen. Jesus and Moses were chosen by God to lead and inspire people in ways thought impossible, and with the help of god perform miracles and leading people down the path to heaven. Through Jesus and Moses God is able to help and direct people to do the right thing. Even though Jesus and Moses are divine, because of their emotional vulnerability and the deep connection they share with their followers, allows for Jesus and Moses to be better inspirational leaders. Jesus’ and Moses’ human frailties, allow for them to be able to further understand and connect with their followers. Both Jesus and Moses are vulnerable to the imperfections of being mortal. This allows for Jesus and Moses to be able to make mistakes and feel human emotions. “ O my Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor even now that you have spoken to your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue” (Exodus 4:10). Here Moses is susceptible to the human quality of doubt. Moses believed that because of his speech impediment, none of the Hebrews would believe that he is the true messenger of God. Even when God commanded Moses to go, Moses refused a second time to and asked God to choose another to lead. But with more encouragement from God, Moses was able to conquer his feelings of doubt. By believing in God and himself Moses then was ready to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt. Jesus the Son of God is also vulnerable to human frailties and emotions. “ He said, Abba, Father, for you all thing are possible; remove this cup from me;
