While illegal immigration in the United States can and will never be entirely stopped, it can be effectively decreased and even reversed (Reverse). At this point illegal aliens are depleting American funds by consuming a large amount of tax payer’s money, while not paying taxes, and taking jobs away form potential tax payers. As stated earlier more than 26 billion dollars go towards aiding illegal aliens every year, and while 16 million are given back threw taxes the other 10 billion lost could easily be poured into the needy public school system. With the support and proper training by the federal government border control can execute the job of deterring illegal
One of the most alarming problems that the United States of America faces at the moment, is that of illegal immigration. This statement stems from the fact that there are now over 12,000 illegal aliens residing in the US. The sheer number of people trying to cross the border by all methods imaginable has risen to the point that the country has been forced to start the construction of a 2,000 mile long fence along the Mexican-American border, which they hope will discourage the intruders. A majority of these people have been hoping to take advantage of the 14th Amendment, which permits birthright citizenship. Therefore the constitution should be amended to disallow birthright citizenship.
“Illegal immigration is a major cause in the overcrowding of our schools and our prisons.” (Bender, David) Michael Huffington, a former member of the US House of Reps. For California says that, “Many illegal immigrants come for two purposes that are both destructive and expensive: to commit crimes or to receive government benefits.” (Huffington, 63) “For instance, the 18th Street gang in Southern California is one of the nation’s most violent street gangs with a staggering 20,000 members. More appalling is the fact that 60 percent of the 18the Street gang’s
What is illegal immigration you ask? Well it is when an unauthorized or undocumented alien from another country crosses the national border in a way that violates the immigration laws of this country. In today’s world we are faced with the problems of illegal immigration, what we don’t know is that this actually cost us money. As of today we have eleven million illegal aliens in our United States, some of these 6,640,000 are from just Mexico alone. Mexico is one of our big illegal immigration problems we are faced with.
IMMIGRATION Illegal aliens in America are very common. America is spending millions to try and stop the growing number of illegal aliens, whom are people from other countries who migrate to another country in search of a better life. I. The number of illegal Aliens in America. A.
United States is a nation of immigrants. Every year, millions of people enter the country and nearly one million people coming without authorization and overstay visas. The escalating number of undocumented immigrants comes into the country with the hope that their hard work and sacrifice will achieve a better life, yet they are breaking the law. Due to the influx flows of legal and illegal immigrants into the United States, it’s been the hot issue for every state that immigrants bring a huge impact to the nation and the lives of the Native American such as economic threats and jobs. The issue has been long debated enough, and people have demanded a change or a law, to crackdown for those responsible who disobeyed the law and allowing the unauthorized to stay and work in the country.
America’s primary goal is national security and when thousands of illegal immigrants travel into the U.S. each year, any one of those illegal immigrants could have plans to wreak havoc on this country. Gang members could be affiliated with terrorist groups who have ill-intentions for America, jeopardizing public safety (I’d rather my pink Caddy not have bullet holes in it). Along with the violence, illegal immigrants take jobs away from legal residence (right about here is where I ran out of stuff to say so I B.S.-ed it to make it longer, just bein’ honest). It’s proven that illegal immigrants are more likely to do lower paying jobs that involve more labor than legal Americans, but in the long run those jobs would be filled by previously un-employed citizens. This would strengthen America’s economy in the long run and reduce how much the government pays out to
Some debates talk about citizenship, border security, driver's license, mass deportations, threats, economic burdens, and higher crime rates. For example, in America, 72% of legal citizens oppose allowing illegal immigrants the ability to obtain a driver's license (Miller). Other problems create disadvantages towards American citizens and workers, such as the Southwest seeing an increase in mass murders, sexual assaults, kidnappings, shootings, armed robberies, burglaries, and more, most being tied to illegal immigration (Greenblatt). These problems further drain public budgets and intensify competition for jobs, social services, and low-cost affordable housing because of the congestion in cities and towns that involve minorities, the homeless, everyday citizens, and both legal and illegal immigrants. Throughout the current wave of immigration, polls have consistently found that the public, at large, favors curbing immigration.
Big Police corruption happens in big cities like New York (NY) or Los Angeles (LA) when a group of Police Officers want to make more money so they decide to take the money of the criminals when they arrest them. In big cities about one fourth of the police could be corrupt. Many of which get caught do it because they have the power to take money and drugs and get away with it because they are the police. The bad guys are not going to report the police for taking there drugs and money because they would get in trouble for having the drugs and then they wouldn’t be able to prove that the money was theirs so they wouldn’t get it back anyways. What the corrupt police would do was they would take the drugs from the drug dealers and then sell the drugs back to them because they would get in more trouble by the drug provider.
There should be more guards patrolling the borders to make sure they do not get in. Also, there should be penalties on employers that hire illegal immigrants. If there are penalties against the employers that hire them, none of the illegal aliens can get jobs. When they can’t get a job in the US, most of them will leave or get caught. So employers know if the person they are going to hire is legal, every person who applies or
