“It’s A Family Tradition” There are many difference traditions throughout the country. To compare my family tradition to another’s could be difficult in some cases. I am going to attempt to compare and contrast the way my family celebrates Thanksgiving, Christmas and 4th of July. A thanksgiving tradition usually consist of mashed potatoes, honey ham, a juicy turkey, green beans, a mix of grandmas pies and family of course. The only thing my family has in common with the “all American tradition” is the family part. Besides the family part, our tradition is like no other, that I’ve witnessed. First we start out with the usual cocktail here and there, the meet and great with the family as they arrive at Grammy’s house on Thanksgiving Day. Then after everyone has arrived with their specialty of yummy goodness, we all place it on a long table and everyone helps their self. Normal right? Well besides turkey and ham we have juicy crab legs and lobster the size of a small dog. Besides green beans and mashed potatoes we have crabmeat stuffing and conch fritters. Our Thanksgiving day usually consist of up to twelve plus couples, so you can imagine with everyone bringing their own seafood specialty how much food we have on the table. This is a tradition that I am so blessed to be a part of, not only to enjoy time with family but to enjoy the tasty seafood treats as well. Another tradition my family has is going to my Grammy’s house on Christmas Eve followed by Santa Clause visiting us Christmas Eve. We start out with dinner and drinks, drinks are a tradition in itself with my family. Then we wait for Aunt Kim and Uncle Jeff to show up, they are usually late. While we wait for the rest of the family to arrive, we have to calm the kids down and tell them to relax and that we can’t open gifts until everyone gets there. I’m sure this is definitely a
