1. What core values would you want to ingrain in your company’s culture? Why? Honesty and truthfulness As a Muslim, our acts and speaks must be honest and truthful, internally and externally, publicly or privately. This will make all the employees confident of themselves, of their behavior, and of their words and performances. By having this core value, the person feels that he or she trusts others and is trusted by others. Honesty involves unity of behavior, unity of standards, and integrity of personality. In a Hadith, reported in Sahih-al-Bukhari, the Prophet (SAWS) said: Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continued to tell the truth until he becomes a truthful person. Falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Hell, and a man may continue to tell lies till he is written before Allah, a liar (Bukhari). Thus, Islam instructs the Muslim to be honest and trains them to be so. The outcome is a healthy self and a healthy organizational atmosphere that leads not only to the happiness of both the individual and the group but also trusting organizational culture. Morality Islam is a comprehensive way of life, and morality is one of the cornerstones Islam. Morality is one of the fundamental sources of a nation’s strength, just as immorality is one of the main causes of a nation’s decline. Moral character is very important quality of Muslims without which no one claim that he is the perfect Muslim. TheAnas (R) reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “indeed I have been sent to complete the perfecting of good character” (SunanAn-Nasai). The wise says, “when money is lost nothing is lost,when health is lost something is lost, but when character is lost everything is lost”.
