It is a dream of social stability in which every man and each woman have the full distinguish of what they are, despite of the conditions of birth or gender. The essays”Declaration of Sentiments by authors Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and the essay “I Have a Dream” by Martin Luther King, Jr. illustrate two different times in American history. They were both martyrs and spoke of injustices against citizens of America. Both authors show some lines of thought on what the freedom in the American dream means.
The freedom that we can enjoy in this country is the product of the founding fathers and all their efforts in the history of the United States to make this country a fair and just place to live for the American people. Throughout history our country has had its fair share of injustices as well as ratification of those injustices for the betterment of the moral in this country. Such movements such as the abolition of slavery. In the beginning of the formation in this country there were actions such as those that this country later acknowledged to be morally wrong and has changed them in its due time. There was always much opposition to any change as there always is.
Actually there are two sides in this issue, one of them is the ideals and the literal concepts that they have wished to keep and the other one is the lived fact that exists on the reality. On one hand, the American dream ideals of freedom are: people are equal; all humans have the same rights and no superiority at all. These are the theories that have been figured out to establish a society based on justice and fairness. Being free according to the American Dream is to illuminate any constrains or restrictions. On the political side, everyone is free to reject, to revolute and simply to say no.
Human rights are the fundamental rights that humans have by the fact of being human, and that neither created nor can be abrogated by any government. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights did not just emerge easily from a vacuum and it would be the final declaration aimed at securing certain rights for citizens in nation-states. What the declaration includes is traced back to Magna Carta (1215). Those that came after have emerged as strategic responses to social and political alteration. John Locke, who is often credited as the father of human rights and liberalism, maintained that humans were free and equal, and that the ideal society was based on a social contract between the humans and those who governed.
