Online chat sites are another way technology is working its magic. Kids, teens and adults go on these online chatting websites and often finding themselves staying on these websites for hours, or even days at a time, severely limiting their real human interactions. People with a great family and great friends go on these chat websites and waste away their lives talking to a screen. The internet and the technology we use to access it are a way for people to hide from their real life problems. When people go on the internet, they feel like they can say whatever they want, mostly because they don’t have to say it to anyone’s face.
(Goldwasser, 667) Even people who can’t spell can text because everything is either abbreviated, or the device understands the word trying to be spelled so it finishes it for you. This requires no thinking skills, and we can just hope that after seeing it many times that it finally gets memorized. This is a major reason why young people today may struggle. People need to learn how to become more proactive in what they do. Lessing, an 88-year-old women puts in good terms that the internet has “seduced a whole generation into its inanities.”
Now it takes as much time as if the person to whom we send a letter / photos / audio and video files, sits in front of you. Internet creates a very convincing, albeit an illusory, lack of distance between people. I think I walked away from the topic, fascinated by describing the benefits of the web. So what about the children of the present generation? Does the Internet render a detrimental impact on growing and getting to know this world creature?
People fifty years ago, were able to survive without computer. So why is it that, these days we can’t live without them. And that when our computer crashes, we feel as though the world has come to an end? My first argument in favour of our dependence on computers is that computers can be very helpful in society and allow us to actually move further forward, and at a faster pace than we would without them. For example, from a freelance writer point of view, who works from home, their laptop or computer, is their workstation, which eases their whereabouts for when and where they want to work.
This fear dates back to at least the invention of movable type.” I tend to agree more with Sharkey because there are a lot of learning toold we can gain from the web. The internet is making a lot of people lazy, it takes all the work and effort out of reading, writing, and even thinking. What used to be time consuming can now be done in a shorter period of time. With just a few clicks and typed words. Most things are made much simpler by just googling and searching for words and stories.
However, he observes that humans lack of face to face interactions and we need to interact with one another face-to-face rather than contacting them virtually through social networking. Nevertheless, he mentions social networking tools make it possible to host our meeting face-to-face on the Internet with our colleagues. Also, he claims that he has to waste his time reading the message and emails that are waiting for him. Then, he also claims that everyone is connected to the internet and relies on the social networking. Besides, he mentions that he enjoyed the day, which internet was down one day couple years ago in his office as people left the offices and communicate with one another.
Furthermore, these things make me have more laziness. For instance, if I want to know anything, I can go easily on internet within 1 second. No need to find out the answers on the books for a long time. I also waste money on the new high technology even if my grandmother thinks they are not necessary for our lives.
Annoying people on the internet Hello Mr. Yanko, Ms. Jensen, class, my name is Joshua and my speech is on another instead because we don’t need to concern ourselves with taxes and the economy right know. So I’ve realized that I’ve been on the internet a lot more than i use to. I use the internet all day where ether it's for homework, youtube, twitter when I was nothing better to or passing time on the toilet or even when I want to avoid and awkward moment with a stranger in and elevator. During the time when I’m on the internet, I discovered a lot of annoying people that could possibly ruin my day. I understand that there are many annoying people in the world, but the internet is where people can truly express their true nature.
WhіƖе computers аnԁ thе internet hаνе become invaluable resources аnԁ everyone now hаνе nο іԁеа hοw they сοuƖԁ еνеr live without thеm, thеrе аrе still ѕοmе things thаt thе computer саnnοt replace, and one of those things іѕ relationship. According to the article “The Negative Effects of Internet Dating,” “the internet hasn’t solved аƖƖ relationship problems, аnԁ іn fact, іt hаѕ іn many cases added more trοubƖе thаn anything” (Jackson). The difficulties of online dating come from the users for not giving a straight ѕtοrу, and thеу аrе οftеn misrepresenting whο thеу аrе аnԁ whаt thеу up tο. Meeting online іѕ a totally different experience frοm personal contact, and thе person mау nοt bе аt аƖƖ Ɩіkе thе person that daters always thought they were dealing with; thіѕ shock іѕ usually on both
They’re many pros to our worlds technology but at the same time my cons. In our world because of technology we become lazy in everything we do because we rely on the internet to do the work for us and we also become obese due to all the games we’d rather play than enjoy fresh air. Technology is an amazing world of its own but if we over use it becomes a problem. Whatever happened to dictionaries or actual book, now all of those are offered off an app or the computer? Back when cell phones were barely around, when we did stuff ourselves.
