Has religious conflict replaced class conflict as the most important issue facing modern society? Can anything be done to heal the rifts between people of different faiths? No, religious conflict has not replaced class conflict as the most important conflict in most modern societies. What have we seen more people rioting about in our society today.? The less fortunate class against the more fortunate class… Ferguson and Baltimore riots are my reasoning for my opinion on this question.
Moral evil is an act of mankind such as murder; natural evil would be something that is not caused by any specific agent but has victims such as would be produced by earthquakes. [1] Because of evil in the world, many argue against there being a creator God by attempting to show that the co-existence of evil and such a deity is unlikely or impossible. The attempts to justify the ways of God to man by proving that God can and does co-exist with evil, are known as theodicies and provide various responses to the problem of evil. Leibniz’s theodicy states that God did not choose the best in creating the world, but then God would be lacking in power, knowledge and goodness. Augustinian theodicy argues that God created the world and it was perfect, without any evil or suffering until man’s fall and Irenaean theodicy states God is partially responsible for evil and suffering as a process of soul building.
He had many more points that just charity and consistency, and they were all very important, but I thought these two were the most interesting and most controversial within today’s society. Emerson’s view on anti-religion is also a strong subject that is viewed down upon by most people. Emerson felt the Christian religion dampened the spirit rather than bringing it up. Although Emerson was against religion in some ways, he still mentions God and a “higher power” throughout his essay, so it shows that he does believe in some form of higher power. Labeling a particular crime as special or different does not deter criminals from their true intention. If we place a "special" label on certain types of murder, rape or vandalism we are not preventing the hate that is the motive for such crimes. This is not the true goal of society. Helen Dodge makes a compelling argument to shun the members of such hateful communities in her article "Special Crimes Need Special Laws", when she says that the public should band together against such forces (Dodge 140). However, even she had to admit that these special laws won't deter the criminals who practice these violent acts.
Most of the disagreement comes from religious people as they feel it is more important than how the government feels about abortion. Even though many of these religions have been around centuries, they still abide by their original laws which were set into place a long time ago. Religious people basically are saying that abortion is a sin because it is a killing of human being. The only way reason why the government is not going by religion or God’s word is because everyone is religious and plus they have to step down to meet the needs of society. Genesis 1-2 can show us that God is all-powerful and all-loving. As far as Genesis 1-2 goes, it is more important to understand the scripture, rather than prove it to be factual. “Although popular images of controversy continue to exemplify the supposed hostility of Christianity to new scientific theories, studies have shown that Christianity has often nurtured and encouraged scientific endeavor, while at other times the two have co-existed without either tension or attempts at harmonization” (Ferngren, 2). Genesis 1-2 is the cause of much unnecessary tension between the religious and scientific communities. The writers of Genesis 1-2 wrote it in a way that presents the Earth’s creation as a factual account of God creating the heavens and the Earth.

At least, if someone did, that person never got enough support to make any type of change. Their system of justice came directly from their religion. Therefore, the people had to deal with laws that were rather strict and favored certain members of society more than others. Had the people questioned this system, they could have made a code that was fair to all and not as harsh. Unfortunately, the people of Mesopotamia never challenged their way of thinking and had to deal with the harshness of the Code.
The ambitions of imperialism lead to the desire to produce a great influence in regions annexed into America. Imperialism brought a lot of antagonist aspirations and created an ambient of suspicion and distrust. Those who had or still have faith and really wanted or want the best for their nation, would employ their authority to honor God and for the benefit of their people. Jesus educated, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your minister, and whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave to all.” These words show that it is wrong to utilize one’s position for personal unjust gain, and that it is better to look for opportunities to help one’s people, especially those in need. Just because someone is different, and going against "god's will," they can not have the same basic rights as everyone else. I believe the government is just trying to make the majority of the United States happy. I also believe they are letting their own religious beliefs get in the way. This needs to stop. We need to stop being so stubborn, and realize this injustice.
