There was only a simple law, and that was to not read books as well as think, making “the mind drink less and less.” This doesn’t seem much of a sacrifice because society was filled with far more excitement than literature could offer. Meanwhile, new technology helped people do everyday chores and made life simpler, leaving more time for fun. Like Beatty said, “Life is immediate, the job counts, and pleasure lies all about after work.” Entertainment ruled their society. The parlor walls seem like a god compared to our TVs. The seashell radios are convenience at its best.
Therefore many had returned from the war only to then find that they had lost their jobs as well, so they directed their anger towards the new government who had signed the treaty. In conjunction with this, the majority of those returning from the front kept their weapons due to poor organisation, which led to the creation of the Freikorps. Armed and and angry with the new government, they were poised to take the country by force if it was not for the Ebert-Groener 1918 whereby Ebert promised to protect the status of those in the army and give them supplies, if they prevented other uprisings. This showed how fragile the
This made the Romans prone to injuries and “because they have no armor, think about running and not fighting” (Document B). Because of the loss of troops from the loss of armour, the Roman army’s numbers diminished. No soldiers were drafted since many groups were exempted from joining the army. This lessened the defences and security of Rome, and Rome became weaker. Another primary reason of Rome’s decline was a series of foreign invasions.
All of the small businesses, such as the grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, and restaurants, would eventually be forced to close. The mom and pop shops wouldn’t be able to compete with the Supercenter. The closing of these stores would have several effects, such as lowering income and cutting ties between owners and employees. The Supercenter would also minimize specialization. The building of the Supercenter would also hurt the environment, by taking away multiple acres of farmland to build on.
The main water supply of the Central Valley would cease to exist, thus leaving its inhabitants stranded and longing for a solution. Hence, if the Delta were to be eliminated through erosion or earthquakes, the amount of available water would diminish for most of California. For example, if we encountered a catastrophic earthquake, it could break down levee walls and within hours bring in salt water from the San Francisco bay. The salt level in the water ways would be detrimental to not only the drinking water but, to the wildlife and its ecosystem as well. Furthermore, it would also have a heavy influence on the amount and quality of farming.
What was once thought of as a passing fad has not proven to be lucrative and basically essential. It offers an extremely cheap alternative to traditional advertising for businesses and gives like never before a way for people to get and stay in contact with friends and family around the world. There is no reason why Yahoo cannot offer this and offer it at the best quality of anywhere else. This wouldn’t be an easy or overnight creation. We would need to have the focus on quality and superior customer service.
The ugly side of assimilation includes ignorance, racism, stereotypes, etc. Bad Assimilation is when people lose their personal and historical identity by basically negating their heritage because it embarrass them or they feel obligated by their surroundings. Another bad reason is plain and simple. They are going to lose the culture and since of self that is part of them. So in that way they are giving up part of themselves to become part of a whole.

The death of these languages brought devastating effects to the human society, because as the languages begin to disappear, the culture and traditions that was tied to the language will slowly die off also. Dying languages aren’t just a thing of the past. Hundreds of languages, and its’ culture, have been lost in the past century, and many lesser known languages are near the brink of extinction. Efforts should be made
Finally, for the individuals that may be affected, leaving this issue unchecked could cause them to make less money or send fewer remittances back home to their families. In conclusion, the main flow of immigrants should, in fact, continue to enter the US. If you pump in millions of new workers seeking jobs, it decreases the amount of work available. Plus, the laws of economic supply and demand will push the wages down far from what they would be. Another con is that immigrants, especially the poorer ones, consume a high amount of government resources like health care, education, welfare, etc. without paying a corresponding high rate of taxes. Almost all immigrants will start out earning very low wages, and unless they get additional education or training, they will likely
