Is Homework Harmful Or Helpful? The return of students to the classroom raises the question of whether homework is an effective educational tool, or an unnecessary stressor and burden on students. Despite what every person will say, they have their own opinion that homework is harmful or helpful, but I say that homework is helpful. It is an advantage to some students and through homework, we can use it to improve and aim for the achievement we want. To begin with, homework improves student achievement. We can show our student achievement in our resume when we find a job in the future. Because of what we learned, we can get the job we want or applied for. Another thing is, we can use homework information or content for future tests. It can serve as our reviewer. After tests, it is easier for students to understand future lessons by facing new questions, kind of related to the past lesson. Secondly, homework can help us by time management. It can keep us occupied in a healthy way. If we’re just wasting our time for online chatting, why not do our homework if we do have. In that way, it will not waste our time. Next, students will have a better classroom experience by learning to complete assignments on time and can earn the best grades students who are always on time. Because of this, students will be encouraged to be more responsible to pass their homework in time, not just in time but answering their homework correctly. Thirdly, homework can reinforce what is learned. It can help us develop skills and acquire knowledge. By just reading we can learn new things. Then, it helps us remember the lesson gone over in class that day. If we ever had some things that we don’t understand about the past lessons we can just review it again using our assignments and it makes it easier to follow the next lessons.
