Football Too Dangerous? High School Football has become more dangerous over the years due to the causes of brain disease, Concussions and fractures. High school football players nationally, have sustained more than half a million injuries. High School football has been shown to become more dangerous due to high levels of ankle and knee injuries. The player’s positions that sustained more of these tragic injuries were “Running Backs” also “Linebackers”. Due to the fact that “high school football players sustained a greater proportion of season ending injuries, fractures and concussions compared to collegiate football players” shows how dangerous this sport is. Young football players who love the game of football and have NFL dreams, are getting cut short by injuries in high school. Most players who do have a brain disease they have C.T.E (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) Researchers found that college football players get injured more often than high school players, but high school athletes are more likely to end up severely injured. Based on almost 1,900 injury reports submitted to the RIO, the researcher’s estimate there were 517,726 football related injuries during the 2005-2006 season at the high school level across the United States. Some say football is safe to play at a young age, but in reality it’s not. Children under the age of 14 are mostly reckless and competitive so when you have them play football even the pros get hurt. Yes the children may play on a less intense scale of the game, but they are still vulnerable to injury. At such a young age, they have a life ahead of them. What if a child is severely injured to the point the parent will be taking care of the child for the rest of their lives because they are incapable of taking care of themselves. No parent wants that. Imagine what the child would have to deal with, throughout their whole life, ruined because of that one
