Embryonic stem cell research is one of the most controversial issues in the United States today. The government and country’s Catholics have had several disputes about if the research should be allowed to take place. The government is looking at the possible outcome of the research. While Catholics believe that embryonic stem cell research is wrong and the embryos should have the same rights as any other living well being. Though a catholic would disagree: in my opinion embryonic stem cell research should be carried out based on the fact it could possibly lead to to treatmemt of serious diseases. Religiously Catholics consider an embryo alive and a human being from the time of conception. The embryo has to be killed once the stem cells are taken. It is ethical to try and save thousand of lives by recycling stem cells, just as the process of organs being used when someone passes. Why would we waste a heart and discard it when there are thousands of Americans who are living with a bad heart. Embryonic stem cells have the ability to change someone’s life for the better as well as our country by being the first to find a cure to diseases such as the ones I stated above. We must make scarifies to advance medically. President Obama passed a bill when he was elected in office that allows government funding for embryonic stem cell research. Many tax payers were angered at this decision. This was a big step for scientist and hopefully the beginning to find a cure for all diseases. I strongly support embryonic stem cell research knowing it could save someone’s mother, sister, daughter, friend, father, and my aunt’s life. Just think that one life can save
