The movie, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” shows the audience that women should stay in a patriarchy system. The female character Miss Ratchet, abused her power as a leader by being over dramatic on her job. The main character, McMurphy never agreed with Miss Ratchet on anything because he feels superior. Two other females that had nicknames are known as a sexual need in the film because McMurphy invited them over to seduce the guard and Billy.
Allie Dille Mrs. Kangas English 10x Hour 4 October 25, 2010 Clare Boothe Luce, an American playwright, journalist, ambassador, and U.S. Congresswoman once stated, “Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed”. Women have forever been seen as the “weakest link” of society and are rarely given the voice they deserve. Sometimes, women feel as though they must go to extremes to be heard in society due to their lack of power. The women of Salem in The Crucible by Arthur Miller feel as though they must go to great lengths in order to have an influence in their community. The lack of power that women have in Salem sets the stage for hysteria.
A popular example would be the treatment of women in The Big Bang Theory. For a good majority of the show’s first few seasons, there is only one main female character, Penny. She’s presented as the stereotypical beautiful girl who is coveted by the males of the show; however, she also seems to lack equal intelligence and is often made fun of by the show itself over her inability to understand most topics being discussed. She’s basically an example of a pretty girl who’s all looks and no brain without any talents to make it through life, and is extremely objectified because of this. On the contrast, other women on the show such as Amy seem to have an extraordinary amount of intelligence, yet lack the pretty looks to go along with it.
With people tormenting her about her cousins who were teen moms, or her father who made a fool of his drunken self in public, the poor girl felt like nothing more than dirt, and she wanted to be thought of as flawless and beautiful. Edith dreamed of being a celebrity, she wished to be a perfect girl, and to live in a perfect world "in which only married women had babies, and in which men and women stayed married forever." The shacks in which Eddie grew up were less than desirable, and supposedly thought of as contemptible, by people of a higher social class. If a girl goes out with no makeup, something I like to call natural beauty then everyone judges her and says she's ugly or lazy, but then when she try's to wear makeup everyone says she's to high maintenance or fake. If q girl wants to wear makeup she has the right to do so, if she feels confident that's true beauty. Where looks Come into the situation, the first thing people do when they see a pretty girl the first thing that pops in there head, she looks stuck up and dumb. Although the author gives some credibly evidence but the author fails to mention is that this example might be only a few woman get high –stress or they can not concentrate so that lead to some accidents happening. Moreover, in recent day, woman often works some jobs and getting high positions such as Doctor, engineer, and Psychologists so if they get high – stress how women can do this jobs. Thus, the author need to consider about this ideas because this ideas was thinking bias viewer. In conclusion , the article “ No women in Combat”, Darren Gaves gave reasons why women can not serve in army. Women do not have mentally tough enough to survive and physically strong enough that is 2 reasons to convince the reader that the author offers.
Carla is characterized as the perfect and beautiful success story, while Bethany is characterized as the ugly screw-up. However, neither person is happy in their respective positions. Carla is always annoyed and hung by her nails in modeling. Although it is hard to notice, Carla does get annoyed with her beauty sometimes as well. She often feels like she has no privacy, and guys constantly hassle her on the street and pressure her from the beginning of a relationship.
However, most people in U.S. didn’t seem like buying it, and began calling her cheater or liar. Reid thinks the main purpose for writing is writing for real life. Write what you know and are curious and passionate about so that you can show not just tell. She believes that those rules are not universally true. When situation changes, suppose we are writing for a newspaper, rules are not appropriate under such situations. And although writing is hard because there are thousands of rules to follow, we are encouraged to set aside those so-called rules, write rhetorically, make a breakthrough and try something new.
