Michael is happy that Josie called him to the school to help her because it shows that she accepts him in her life. 18. Sarah’s theory of destiny is that you “let your parents decide” and you have to “marry your own stock” and that you don’t move outside your realm of social and economic status. 19. Josie doesn’t sleep with Jacob because they are different cultures and religions; she believes this to be too important.
Some people are just because they don't have enough power to change how people act or change anything around them . Justice is the only way they have so they can be treated the same too. And I might be one of those weak people , who don't have the power to act unjust to others , I don't have the power to change anything around me , I can change myself but not the others . Cicero mentioned a good illustration in his argument , where there is two men , one of them is the powerful and not just and the other one is the good honest man , and the people believe that the good man is the powerful one although he is not just or honest like the other man . At the end , who I am going to choose ?
Solitude vivifies; isolation kills. Through out life in this crazy mind ridden world, people find themselves isolated. Isolation rears its ugly head in various forms and can often be unexpected. Whether it be personal gain unachieved, or conflicts of love or hate, people deal with this sort of abandonment. Self created or felt from another persons doing, this separation of ones being must be dealt with.
This is important to the novel because we later learn that Miss. Dubose is in fact ill and there is a reason for her ill mannered behaviour. This shows the theme since Atticus acted in a hero like fashion rather than the way most of society would have acted. A similar case happens when Bob Ewel spits on Atticus and to that Atticus responds with “”. This also shows how Atticus simply can not see the dark in people.
She realises that the knowledge she has is something to be grateful for (although at his stage she is not willing to pursue it) and she accepts that there is something positive about Anys. This leads on to a second point. 2. Anys has pride but pride in the positive sense - she has self-pride. Even as a child she was self-possessed (see p52f) which the shy Anna finds admirable.
Justice is what is seen to be right and just by society and this means that society is catered for. However, an outsider does not conform with society so what they may think is just is different to society. These conflicting views mean that societies justice can be placed on the outsider. Outsiders are often isolated, they don't fit in or necessarily want to fit in . They often don't pick up on the nrules or cues society have to operate.
Sample paragraph 1 template: There are many different types of people in the world; some are here to do good, be good, and enjoy life. Others are indifferent to making the world a better place. It is the caring and selfless people who deserve and receive the most admiration, the ones who are here to enjoy life and make others' lives better. These admirable people are also the memorable characters in the best novels. They have their share of challenges and sometimes falter.
However, in Fahrenheit 451 Beatty describes conformity as a positive aspect of society – he argues that conformity in behavior prevents violence and jealousy by restricting the gifted and talented people from their ability to excel, which is good in a way because then the others won‘t feel bad. However, the real problem in the situation Beatty describes is not the exceptionally bright child (when he is trying to show Montag the uselessness of books) but the group of people of those who submit to it. Unfortunately, this very situation occurs repeatedly in our society today. People who choose not to conform may be persecuted by the groups of people who submit into censorship, and through that act of persecution the people reinforce conformity of
The context of the text is also more appealing to me: talking about the positive and good things about social media rather than scaremongering and causing dread in just the simple use of them. I also prefer the basic white background with black text rather than the colourful background because it’s a bit distracting and it doesn’t add anything to the text itself. Also the text in the leaflet seems to be comprised mainly of facts and statistics which do not appeal to me nor do they sway my current opinion of social networking as a whole. The leaflet being in leaflet form however is the biggest reason that it doesn’t appeal me. If it were in a form of a website it could perhaps be more enticing and more appealing to me, but alas it is not.
Why or why not? In my honest opinion prejudice is hard to measure because it cannot accurately be predicted or judge by a test. I feel like prejudice cannot be measured accurately because the test shows the association between different groups. The only thing I can see the implicit association test is measured are the groups that I may belong to or fit in. People cannot show the result of being or prejudice because people are known to select things that they are more familiar with, things that they are more commutable with, and things that they see in their everyday environment.
