Ipods Should Be Allowed in School

Persuasive speech: IPods should be allowed in school. Many people think that IPods are only used for texting, music, and games. But there are other smarter ways to use your IPod. First, you could you it for educational purposes. Second, you could use it for note-taking, and third, you could use it for quiet time. This is why I believe that IPods should be allowed in class. First off, the IPod is great when you use it for educational purposes. The first thing you could use it for is a calculator. If you don’t want to pull out a funny-looking calculator, just pull out the IPod and touch the calculator app. Second, you could use it for browsing the internet. Instead of using a big computer, just take the IPod, click Safari, and you’re at Google already. This one small device takes the place of many items that could weigh down your backpack. Second, IPods can also be used for note-taking. When I was at a Christian camp, I used my IPod to take notes during the sermons. Instead of bringing pen and paper, all I needed was the IPod. The same can be done in class. In addition to staying focused, it helps with your hand-eye coordination. But that’s not all. There is tons of paper that will be wasted if you don’t use the IPod for note-taking. It is obvious that this small electronic device can be used in many ways. Next, IPods can be used for quiet time. If you’re in class and you want to concentrate on your work, turn on music and listen quietly. It also helps the teacher because he or she does not need to worry about the noise level in the room, since everyone is on task. As you are listening, the music blocks out every distraction in the class, and you can be more focused on what you’re doing. If you’re listening to your IPod, you will not be distracted by anyone nor be a distraction yourself. In the end, I think IPods should definitely be allowed in class. It is
