Opportunity The worldwide tablet PCs market segment is forecast to record strong growth in coming years. The growth in tablet PCs was mainly due to increase in consumer market demand. IPad has a chance to exploit strong finance. It builds up excellent support for prospect money value. Also, it has a chance for developing market trend. Strong growth outlook for the tablet PCs market segment will create demand for the company’s products in coming years. Not to mention the high quality of the battery which will last up to 10 hours. Threat Apple operates in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving technology industry. Rapid changes in the technology have resulted in the frequent introduction of new products with competitive prices, features and performance characteristics. The iPad faces intense competition in the tablet PCs market, such as HP Slate. It has a risk of not attracting intended customers-hence loss instead of profit. Moreover, there is risk of more rivals to emulate the product. On the iPad, the Safari browser included doesn't have Flash, but HP Slate has. Also, iPad doesn’t have camera. Marketing function Product and service The iPad is touch screen operated and has a virtual keyboard, obviously larger than the iPhone virtual keyboard and smaller than Mac. The iPad features a 9.7 inch (1024x768 resolutions) liquid crystal display with fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant glass. It has Micro SIM card tray with Wi-Fi + 3G model only and the latest Bluetooth. Also, the iPad can provide up to 10 hours battery life of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music. There will be different versions of the iPad at launch with different hard drive capacities and 3G capability. There will be a 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64GB variants.
