Over the past few years, mobile devices such as smartphone and tablets has become critical tools in people’s daily life. With the evolution of technology, the functions of those devices were not limited on communication such as making a call and sending a message. Today people can browse the Internet and check emails on their mobile devices. They are also able to use those devices to take photos, conduct their calendars, share information on social media, and even process business transactions. This evolution of mobile devices has revolutionized how people exchange information, and it is no surprise that investor relations function will take advantage of this trend and go mobile. While technology evolution only provides the possibility of mobile investor relations transformation, the increasing mobile market is one of the primary drivers for the transformation. Today, people are continuing to access the Internet on their mobile devices more frequently. In their articles, Digital buzz Blog stated that “by the end of 2011, there were 6 billion mobile subscribers worldwide,” this number equals 87% of the world’s population and it increases to 91% according to the latest data in 2013. In addition, “56% of people over the world own a smart phone and there are over 1.2 billion mobile web users worldwide” (Digital buzz Blog, 2012). This impressive growth of the mobile market can also supported by another set of statistics from the Cisco Visual Networking Index: Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast Update, 2012-2017 (Cisco Systems, Feb 2013):  In 2012 global mobile data traffic grew 70%  Mobile data traffic in 2012 was nearly twelve times the size of the entire global Internet in 2000  In 2012 the average smartphone usage grew 81% The report also predicts that, “mobile data traffic will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 66 percent from 2012 to 2017”
