An Introduction to Primates In the film documentary the Introduction to Primates briefly covers over 41 different species. In addition the film also shows the many different primates and three different types of monkeys. The three types of monkeys are New world monkeys, Old world monkeys, and Apes seem to range as different as humans do. Within in this movie it discussed the different primates and how they interact and sharing basic statics on the each individual creature. We not only discussed monkeys and apes but different types of lemurs that share characteristic just like the apes. Like all other species apes are notorious for grooming another and spend a lot of time grooming one another. Having no tails seem to be a disadvantage, but having longer arms allows them to knuckle walk and swing from tree to with ease. Some apes featured in the film were Chimpanzees and Bonobo apes. Within all those species similarities and differences are common throughout species. No matter how different primates look they all share some characteristics that connect us together by some sort. How it relates This movie related very well with our discussion and power points in class. Learning about primates, haplohrines, and ontogeny, there is so many ways this movie relates and explains further in detail what we discussed in class. Especially within the Haplohrines giving great details and explanation about the differences between the New World Monkeys, Old World Monkeys, and Apes species are. My Personal Opinion My personal opinion of the movie was that the movie was very informing but had poor quality and the narrator was to monotone for my liking. Other than that it really related to our class discussion very
