The University of Texas and Schwarz v. The Genesee County Road Commission clearly demonstrate that this is not an issue of the past and that many still feel there is discrimination based on race. If the company does not have an "acceptable" number of minorities employed, then it could be liable for a discrimination claim from a minority or minority rights group. If it institutes a program ensuring that a certain number of minorities are hired, then it runs the risk of being sued for reverse discrimination. "Preferential treatment will spur claims from all groups who feel they have been victims of injustice. And members of groups excluded by preferential treatment programs today will demand tomorrow to be compensated for opportunities denied them.

Afrah Noor Briget Horne ENC 1102 9 March 2014 Paper 4 Proposal This paper is based on racial conditioning, white privilege, and white culture, and how it has affected our lives for the worse. Using quotations from the essay “Leave Your Name at the Border” by Manuel Munoz, and quotations from three other essays, this paper will portray the imagery of how much the diversity in America is actually respected. Racial conditioning encourages the reduction of respect towards others, making diversity seem detrimental, and making it seem alright to look down on others, which allows for an unfitted environment for our children to be brought up in. Other aspects discussed in this essay are the effects of capitalism and stereo typing.
