The following essay attempts to identify and evaluate, with use of verbatim examples, interpersonal skills cited from the video recording of Gwen and Frank. Gwen and Frank talk about house sharing arrangements and expenses as they have recently moved in together. The discussion is successful due to the fact that they are both happy with the outcomes. Reflections on communication skills will be outlined and discussed along with researched theories. These skills are active listening, assertiveness, paraphrasing and positive nonverbal communication; these skills will also be evaluated. Suggestions for improvement on skills will be discussed and appropriate feedback will be given. In the video session Gwen approached Frank about discussing house sharing requirements. Frank was obliging to take part in this discussion. Gwen was considerate with making sure that the discussion happened at an appropriate time. Gwen and Frank talked in detail about responsibilities of each other in the home including bills and food. Gwen and Frank collaborated well together in deciding on household jobs, bill sharing and cooking duties. The discussion then leads into other relevant topics. Gwen and Frank cooperated in coming to agreeable outcomes about a dog, having friends over and keeping the communication opened with each other. Gwen summarised the topics of discussion to make sure that Frank and herself were both understanding of the conversation topics. Frank repeated back to Gwen what he was going to do and then the discussion ended. The video between Gwen and Frank went well, they talking openly, honestly, they even joked a little. The conversation flowed well, they listened to each other and the outcome was successful. Next will be the identification and Evaluation of skills used in the video recording of Gwen and Frank.
