Warmly greeting both Max and Kim by name on arrival and making eye contact followed by a smile will ensure that the he knows you’re friendly. If possible, encourage Kim to remain at the centre with Max for a period of time each morning, sharing activities with him and you. As Max feels more comfortable at the centre over time, the time periods that his mother stays, could be reduced. Make sure that the separation of Max and Kim is unhurried and relaxed. I think this one is very easy to understand. A group needs to share information and feedback so that they can know each others schedule and make next plan to achieve the final goal. It is like in the movie, four people need to communicate to know what ideas are from each member. It will help them to improve or change their personal habit to help another group member and only this can help them success. What I want to tell you is you need to learn to share your information and feedbacks with your group.

With staff members I find change over, staff meeting, supervisions appraisals and training are very useful for reflection of practice as we can all share our ideas or concerns and learn from each other. As a group we can all reflect on the ideas or concerns and discuss together how we can improve ourselves this will lead to a better service being provided within the home. When doing supervisions and appraisals one to one and reflecting on the persons work over the past year it is important to not only to tell them where there may be room to improve but to also praise them on what they have done well i.e. you did this well because…. The staff member will then go away happy and can themselves reflect on what they did right as well as how to improve.
