In this day and age, technology is constantly shaping and defining the modern world. It is impossible to go outside and not see the impact technology has on our everyday lives, from people talking on cellphones to having groceries checked out at the store. In recent times, tablet technology has been bringing the world into the future. The Apple iPad, the Blackberry PlayBook, and the Google Nexus 7 are just a few of the growing list of mobile computers that have been reforming the way we live. People choose the tablets for having features that are right for them. The Apple iPad has gained world-wide popularity for its innovative technology, sleek appearance, and ease of use. Since its unveiling in 2010, the iPad has undergone three upgrades, with the most recent one being unveiled on March 7th, 2012. The latest iPad, known as the iPad 3, features a high resolution Retina display, a 5 megapixel camera, and 4G cellular compatibility and comes in white and black. The operating system it uses is iOS version 5.1.1 and holds a battery life of up to ten hours of active use. Mobile carriers that support the third generation iPad are Verizon and AT&T. It is the most popular choice for consumers interested in mobile computers. The Blackberry PlayBook was released in 2011 in the United States and Canada. Although the tablet’s design similar to that of the iPad, it is smaller and it is the lightest tablet on the market, weighing only 0.9 pounds.
