The internet is much quicker than any other form of communication and is also very cheap. For example e-mails are completely free to use and are delivered to the recipient (however far away) in a matter of seconds. Also the developments in software like Skype have allowed people to have face to face conversations when they are miles away from each other. This could be very important for TNC’s trying to tell their bosses in HQ about the factory and its productivity. They could just show them around using Skype.
Internet helped us to communicate with the ones we loved especially those who are far from us. Instead of spending too much on international telephony, all we need is just a computer which has internet access and we can then send and receive messages from the ones we love. I do believe that technology has made our lives easier, but it also has made us more dependent on the technology itself. When using the internet for a dictionary you could easily get distracted. Anyone can put anything on the internet, so what you find might not be accurate. Most people find that looking things up on the internet is distracting because you are already on the web so why not check YouTube for a funny video, or update your status on the social network.
This means that the TNC can pay workers less, not worry about providing good working conditions. All of these factors greatly benefit TNCs because they can produce their products or components for a fraction of a price that they would have to pay in their country of origin. Another thing that has enabled companies to spread out over the globe is the fact that global communications and travel has improved.
