The Internet and Its Effects The Internet today has many different uses but some say that it has an overall bad effect such as corruption or even identity theft. But the internet is a very helpful and useful source for many things such as information and communication. It is difficult to place your finger on whether the internet is overall bad or good but there are many points within this paper that with persuade you that it is good. First, I want to talk about the Internet’s main use, communication. The internet is the fastest way for the transfer of information especially across seas from country to country. All information can also be saved on the internet so it can be seen and used by people across the world. Today, the internet is the largest data base of information in the world and is still continuing to grow. New websites are made every day and with that is new and useable information. With the transfer of information come many important things such as stocks. Without the internet today, many countries’ economies could die because how stocks are bought and sold and they rely on the internet. 85% of stocks are done over the internet. Practically all stocks today are done online. Also many companies today are created on the internet and built up upon it and need it to function. Most companies today use the internet everyday and rely greatly on its numerous uses. Companies save millions using the internet because they can save money on many things such as advertisements cost today. It costs 90% less to have an advertisement on the internet that it is to make a billboard or place it in the local newspaper. Also, many more people today are always on the internet and the advertisements get across to more people at a cheaper cost.
