The dependant variable will be the amount of un-popped kernels left over. Relevance of Testable Question This experiment is relevant because in this economy everyone want to know that they are getting the absolute best value for each purchase that they make. If a bag of popcorn appears cheaper at first look because of the price, but half of it doesn’t pop is it really a good value? Knowing what will provide the best value will help others with future purchases to get the most value. Literature Review I chose two experiments that were similar to the one that I plan to conduct.
It comes in two major varieties buttered and unbuttered but comes in many different flavors, salty, caramel, white cheddar etc. The evidence of popcorn is been found in Peru as early as 4700 BC. In 16th and 17th century the Native Americans brought the popcorn with them to America. Now there are many brands that market microwave popcorns, they come in boxes with individual paper packages wrapped in plastic, to pop the popcorn the plastic is removed and the paper bag containing the corn is kept in the microwave for certain time to pop up the kernel. Since popcorn is one of the top snacks consumed in America it is important to know which brand popcorns pops the most, considering the fact that there are expensive brands and inexpensive brand and its the perception that expensive brand popcorns will pop the most.
1 Preliminary Research: When kernels get hot after being heated, they then expand and turn into popcorn. Popcorn is able to pop because the kernels have a hard-moisture sealed hull and a dense starchy interior. This interior and exterior part of the kernel allows pressure to build inside until it explodes and causes the “pop” sound. According to NASA, the moisture inside the kernel turns to steam at about 450 degrees F. At this temperature it pops and turns inside out and then you have your favorite popcorn snack. 2 Hypothesis: I think that Pop Weaver light butter popcorn will pop the most kernels.
We made this inference due to our slope of each of the graphs. Given the mole ratios, the slope of our newer lab, comparing H2 to moles of Mg, should’ve been a slope of 1. But our first point skewed our results giving us an actual slop of 0.7, which was short from a more accurate result. And given our results last week, we concluded that our titration method was more accurate than our crystallization method due to the basically perfect slope of 2.0018 which is very close to the theoretical slope of 2. 5.
He puts too much ice in the cup and goes to the sink to throw some away and goes back to the gallon of juice and pours some juice in the cup, fills it up almost to the top. Coming back quickly he brings the popcorn and his glass of juice and sets it on the middle table of the living room and goes back to get his chips and brings them to the table as well. He then hurries to the bathroom and hurries back. As he sits back down on the couch and starts to watch the movie and eat his chips. My brother

Although they both carry the famed name Cheerios, both cereals are different in taste but almost exactly the same in vitamins and minerals. These cereals offer a variety of health benefits such as lowering high cholesterol. And providing families with food that everyone can enjoy. Honey Nut and Apple Cinnamon Cheerios are both high in folic acid, which helps prevent birth defects and improves the spinal system of new born babies. Calcium and Phosphorus can also be found in these Cheerios, they help improve eye sight and bone health by making them stronger.
Comp II Assignment 3- Evaluation Whitey’s pumpkin flavored ice cream is probably the best tasting ice cream in the Quad Cities Area (QCA). Though several ice cream shops have sprung up in the QCA, Whitey’s not only evokes a feeling of the fall season but, a sense of community as well, especially the pumpkin flavored ice cream. Perhaps I’m setting myself up for a sold out visit to Whitey’s in search of my pumpkin flavored scoop atop a homemade waffle cone but, this ice cream is so good it deserves an Oscar. I understand this topic may seem a bit strange but as I sit down to write this paper, my husband rescues me with a bowl of pumpkin ice cream from Whitey’s. As the turquoise and yellow striped bowl is coming my way, I can’t
Purpose/ objectives: 1. To learn if food concentrations affect yeast activity 2. To improve skills in writing a lab report better 3. To practice measuring skills 4. To understand how yeast works Materials: * * 6 identical large test tubes (18 X 150mm) * 1 graduated cylinder (24ml) * Molasses stock solution ( 1:4- molasses: water) Dropper * Yeast suspension (1 gram of dry yeast in 100 mls water) * Aluminum foil * 1 test tube rack * 1 graduated cylinder (small) * 1 beaker * 6 small test tube (10 X 75mm) * Rule marked in millimeters Hypothesis: If you add more molasses to the yeast then the gas would became greater because the yeast cells reproduce so the waste became greater and
I really tried to make things different during my second week of analysis, and they were a little different than they were in the first week, but there were still a lot of things that needed improvement. I managed to keep my saturated fat under the normal percentage. My percentage was 8.6% and the normal is 10% for my diet. I also drank a lot more milk this week so that I could reach the recommended goal of 3 cups. I had a hard time drinking just plain milk, so I put some chocolate syrup in it and that made it much better but a lot less healthy.
