Inner Beauty vs. Outer Beauty In the world there are many diverse types of beauty. Each and every person has their own terminology of what beautiful is. The definition of beauty is said to be “the combination of all qualities of a person that delight the senses and please the mind”. Two of the main typed of beauty in a person are outer beauty, which is the outward appearance of how a person looks, and inner beauty, which is the true character of a person. Outer beauty and inner beauty are both a type of beauty, but they are different from each other in many ways. Inner and outer beauty does not have to be gender specific. Outer beauty is the outward appearance of a person and how they appear to other people. When people often describe a beautiful woman, one imagines someone with the long, perfect hair, a pretty smile, a slim, tone body and warm eyes. These characteristics are how people depict a beautiful woman, but there is more to beauty than looks. Although outer beauty may be what people can see, inner beauty is what is more important. Everybody contains inner beauty; some people may just show more inner beauty than others do. Inner beauty contains; people caring, understanding, selflessness, staying positive, and having courage. Caring is the ways that people present themselves to others. People, who surround us, not only see our outer beauty, but by the way people act, others can know how truly beautiful a person is on the inside. Strangers can recognize and see the inner beauty by the actions that others make. People who contain inner beauty are known to be understanding. Being kind and understanding is a natural, human instinct. Understanding may be thought as a sign of weakness, but people who understand are really the strongest.
