I have strong morals, including there is only one life to live; life should be joyous. Therefore, my goal is to make everyone I come across a friend. Making them feel loved and showing them my true heart. Most important to me are when people see the love I try to radiate. I want this to be on a personal level to each person I meet.
The text itself gives the person strength but the idea of how precious what they are holding empowers the reader furthermore. Now it’s their own little secret weapon that they must protect at all costs and then pass it on when the time is right. This book also talked about is we only see and understand what our mind lets us. Just like when we meet someone at first, we only see them for what we can imagine a person to be. Nothing more, nothing less.
My mentor is the tutor Paula and my manager is Sam Nolan. 1.3 Describe ways to ensure that personal attitudes or beliefs do not obstruct the quality of work. I feel being aware of how your beliefs and personal attitudes can obstruct your quality of work is a good first step, identifying and understanding your own views. By having an awareness of this you can notice when you may not come across as friendly with someone who has different views and by noticing you can adapt your behaviour. For example, I have a particularly strong anti-war ethic and some clients have been in the army and are very proud of that.
I think the humanistic-encouraging trait is important because like any other leader, people must trust you, set goals that are attainable, learn how to resolve issues in a constructive manner, and encourage your followers. I enjoy listening to people’s problems and helping them think positive and find the healthiest or best solution. I am normally the person my friends come to when they need to talk to someone. I believe as a manager a person must have a sense of how a person is and deal with each person individually if needed so each person as an understanding of what is the mission is. Controlling as a manager is something I believe I will have to work on.
In my opinion, it is also essential to have a sense of humility and I truly strive to always remain humble. When people let you into their lives and emotions, they can often put you on a pedestal because of what they are going through. In these interactions, I feel that it is very critical to remember
Using a daily planner and prioritizing my responsibilities has helped me have the time to transition back to a student. Although every task is written, not all need to be done in the same day. Day to day activities can be very distracting but my schedule keeps me focused. Returning back to school and into the student role requires me to be successful in working in teams. Communicating with my peers helps me trusting in my team mates to be active in the learning experience.
I will also continue to show gratitude to others and be compassionate. My weakness would have to be just remembering to maintain this way of life at all times. There are times in life when things get trying and we find ourselves at a crossroad not knowing witch way to go, having these ethics and values help me to make the right decision
Being assertive is touch for me because I am so nice. I try my best to not say things that could possibly hurt someone’s feelings even if people speak disrespectfully to me. I have to learn to be more assertive and straight to the point. A good leader is a good communicator. One important tool in communication is assertiveness.
I believe this would help me because it helped me open up and not be afraid to make sure the rules were followed, class ran smoothly, and everyone was safe. In my residential hall I got to know my peers that I live with. At peacock we have became a family. We go out and have fun together and help each other when needed. I am comfortable with lending my materials to them because I know I will receive them back like I gave it to
I learned humility through life struggles that have shown me that people who are arrogant and boastful aren’t really liked. I am a caring person I care for everyone and want to see the best out of everyone. If there is anything I can do to help someone be a better person than they already are I will do so. Caring for other people just seems to come natural to me. I learned to stay strong and never allow my fear to limit me.
