Informative Presentation Outline G.P. – To inform S.P.S. – To inform my audience of the five parts to replace when doing a tune-up on a car. (Object) C.T. – The five parts to replace when doing a tune-up on a car are the spark plugs, spark plug wires, the distributor cap, ignition rotor, and fuel filter. (Topical) “Except for the American woman,” said Alfred Hamilton Barr, Jr., first director of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and one of the most influential critics of modern art of all time, “nothing interests the eye of the American man more than an automobile.” (Quotation) Almost everyone around us today has a car. To some it’s nothing more than just a method of getting from point A to point B. To others, it’s a wonderful piece of art. But in either case, the mechanics of them are the same: they must be maintained or eventually they will deteriorate and will no longer run. Unfortunately, no one is really taught how to maintain a car unless they went to a tech school or someonehas shown them. According to General Motors, one of the world’s leading car makers, it’s for this reason that many automobile makers today are making “disposable” cars. If people only knew how to do a simple tune up, they would be able to save themselves thousands of dollars in repair costs later on or even the purchase of a new car. There are only five parts to doing a tune-up, all of which are real simple for all of us to do. One required part is the spark plugs. Another part would be the spark plug wires; A third part is the ignition rotor. A fourth, which goes along with the ignition rotor, is the distributor cap. And the last part is the fuel filter.
