Informative Speech About MY Music After a rough day, when you come home from work or school, you need something that will make your day better. The best choice you will have is listening to your favorite type of music. You can just turn on your radio, compact disc player or iPod and have a great time listening to your music collection. Music has the power to affect your mood, stimulate your brain cells, reduce stress and it’s even powerful enough to be used to heal and can be therapeutic. Everyone has a music collection or at least a favorite genre. There is one for everyone. We all have different choices for music, none are better than the other. The only difference is that I have roughly about 40,000 song of just about every genre. I enjoy some genres better than others. For example, I listen to 60s and 70s pop/rock and Motown as well various varieties of modern rock and not so much rap/hip-hop of any kind. My mood usually decides what I’m listening to. If I’m driving by myself, angry and/or working out, I tend to listen to harder rock. If I’m tense and I need to relax, I’ll listen to world and/or softer music. When I’m studying, I listen to Classical music because it seems to help me concentrate and retain information. If I’m entertaining, I’ll listen to newer country, 60s pop/rock, Motown and/or a combination of all. I have two 160 Gigabit iPods with all genre on them and I will usually just hit shuffle. The reaction I get from most people is that they not only can’t they believe I have some of the artist and genre, but that I actually listen to them. I started collecting music in my mid-teens with LPs and cassette tapes and got more into it in my early 30s with CD’s too and eventually digital after losing most of my collection.
