Many things has happen in the last decade that has effected everyone in some kind of way. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” When he said that I wonder if he had any idea what would be happen in the next century. In the recent years america and experience many horrible tragedies. The most notable is the mass shooting at the Sandy Hooks Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut. The school shooting will go down in history because, It has taught us many things. It is the most important event because it has taught us about Gun Control, School Security and, Mental Health Issues. This has open the eyes of the public and it let them know that we need to not ignore the people in out society that have mental health issues. Adam Lanza had Asperger's. Asperger’s is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. Asperger's, after all, is not typically linked to violent behavior, certainly not the level of violence that Lanza unleashed on Sandy Hook Elementary School, so many wondered if there was something else going on. Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis something must've tripped a wire in his brain and made him snap. For someone to unleashed on kids that way obvious had some type of mental illness. With this type of event taking place because of someone mental illness it has shined the light to the public on people who have mental illness. It has let people know that they are not meant to be pushed off to the side as if they don’t matter because they are the ones you have to watch and be very careful
