Introduction Within this assignment I am going to talk about how own working practice can affect children and young people’s development. Own working practice is where adults and students are enabled to test their own learning in the real world so they will come face to face experiences that will occur when they get a job there for example this is why we go on placements on Thursdays and Fridays because we will get new experiences and will build on our own working practice, own working practice also helps you to identify what the roles and responsibilities are when you are in that setting and then this will also help you when you try and find a job as you would have had experience and will be more experienced. Professionalism Being professional is part of your own working practice as you have to be professional to set a good example to all the children you are teaching. When I am on placement in cross gates school I make sure I have good time keeping so this includes turning up on time on the morning but also making sure that I return from dinner before all the children come back into the classroom, as if you are doing one to one and the children then they will need you to be there to support them and if you are late then they won’t now what do to and neither will you so you won’t be able to help them. When I am placement I try and make sure that I keep thing nice and neat and try and be organised when I am doing activities etc.
