Running head: INDIVIDUAL: LEADERSHIP APPROACH PAPER Individual: Leadership Approach Paper University Of Phoenix Organization Leadership LDR/531 Individual: Leadership Approach Paper There are several definitions to the word leadership but the one that stands out the most to me is a person that possesses several traits such as behavior and the ability to be able to influence others to do the right thing as well as notices when you are doing the right thing. The leadership approach that I have selected is Behavior approach. The reason for selecting the behavior approach is because I have came across many managers or leaders that did not live up to their title. I personally have never held a manager title but I do understand what is right or wrong. In my lifetime I have a held a few jobs but only a handful of leaders I have worked for. I believe that some managers get the title not for their actions but because they know the right people. I think that this is the wrong reason to give someone a manager title. Being a leader to one person or a hundred people is important and one should be the best leader they can be but if the leader doesn't take the job seriously the people following will not know right from wrong when stepping into a leadership role. A leader is also someone who you look up to and motivates you and pushes you to be the best at whatever you want to be. A leader also notices your hard work and notices that you want to follow in their footsteps someday. In my current position I have an amazing leader that I look up to because I feel that she is an amazing and intelligent woman she is knowledgeable powerful and extremely humble at the same time. I look up to my Director and I only hope I can be close to what she is in my lifetime. What I have taken from my observations of past leaders in my life is pushing work on others or blaming
