Individual Bullying Report Bullying is an issue to study in human development due to over the years; the epidemic has been on the rise. Bullying in high school has caused adolescents to become withdrawn from others, feeling of hopelessness, and may even cause a teenager to take his or her own life. It is not as harmless as some may portray it to be as it is a wide spread serious problem that many teenagers face on a daily basis. Bullying most definitely has negative consequences for victims, the bullies, and for the school’s atmosphere. There has been a wide spread of bullying all across the globe especially in the United States. The educators, lawmakers, and researchers are trying to behead this epidemic as it has a major impact on adolescents’ lives. Many adolescents think that bullying is fun and amusing until it happens to them. The three components or types of bullying behavior as observed by researchers are as follows; it must be intended to cause bodily harm, it must done intentionally to a person, and must be done on an ongoing basis. A victim must also recognize the difference of power between him or her and the bully. Bullying is a combination of aggression of physical, verbal, and relational towards a victim. Today the physical bullying is more likely to get the attention of an educator as it involves kicking, hitting, or any other inappropriate violence towards the victim. There are many schools that do not tolerate this physical bullying behavior and it has severe consequences for the bully. The verbal type of bullying involves slandering of one’s character such as name calling, threatening to harm an individual, and teasing a victim. The relational type of bullying is considered the least that educators are concerned for as it is considered to spread rumors about the victim, not include the victim in an activity, gossiping
