Indian culture What is culture? Culture is a powerful human tool for survival. Culture is a particular way of value, beliefs and idea of a particular civilization. It includes people’s beliefs, religion, social values, customs, traditions, and arts. Culture is constantly changing to suit today’s lifestyle, but Indian culture is so intact that it has been one of the oldest culture which have not changed since ages. It is the world's largest, oldest, continuous civilization. India has a rich cultural heritage, though it has been subjected to a series of cultural invasions, yet it has retained its originality and traditional character even after absorbing the best of the external influences. Indian culture is as diverse as the country of 1.2 billion is itself. So, India’s has different religions, architecture, languages, customs and food all throughout the country. Firstly, religion plays a central and definitive role in the life of many of Indian people. Many different religions and fashion can be found in India and the people are able to practice the faith of their choice. There are so many different kinds of religions followed throughtout India as there are diverse kind of people. Four world religions- Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism have originated here, whereas Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Islam arrived in the 1st millennium CE and also helped shape the region's diverse culture. One of the most followed religion is Hinduism. Hinduism is the predominant religion comprising of 80% of the population. Hinduism is world’s third largest religion. Hinduism owes it origins to Vedas and the Hindu Culture laid reverence for these Holy Scriptures scripted in the sacred language of Sanskrit. The Hindu religion has many schools, each with their own unique views. They teach people all the scriptures, Vedas and Hindu mythology which keeps the Indian culture
