Watching movies is one of the most favored past time of people both young and old a like. There are many genres to choose from that could fit your taste such as comedy, action, romance, horror, thriller, drama, suspense, etc. From all the movies that have been made, some of them have really captured their audience while others totally drove them away. When it comes to me, I believe that there are certain factors on why I would think a movie is good. First of all, I think, to have a good movie is that you have a good story, a very moving plot and a great script. There are movies that really can open our eyes to the truths around us and there are others that don’t teach us any lesson at all. If you have a good story, it will stick to the mind of those who watched your movie. Second, of course if there’s a great script there must also be actors. The actors should be able to portray the characters well and give them justice. Imagine this, in a romance fiction film such as Twilight, will you be able to feel Edward Cullen if Rowan Atkinson played the part? Surely it won’t be romance or drama anymore, it will become comedy. Also, a great movie lies in the hands of its director. The director is the one who guides everyone in the movie in making the script come to reality. He is the one who envisions how the words would look like in real life. If the director lacks imagination, the movie would be a complete bore. Take Gary Ross, The Hunger Games Director, he was able to make the fictional country of Panem come alive on screen. There’s also the directors for the Harry Potter series who was able to make everyone dream of having their acceptance letter to Hogwarts. There are also the people who provide the music for the movie. They are the ones who give the movie atmosphere since music is one of the ways to make people follow the mood of the dialogues.
