My confidence plays a big role in the person I am today. Freshman year was based on hard work and trying new things. This taught me to be in control. The work was not going to get done for me so to succeed I was the one who had to push myself and take over. Being a part of drill team has helped me with control by helping others in learning routines or chants with taking charge when others do not.
For kids, playing sports should be a time of fun, a way to build social skills and promote healthy self-esteem. Unfortunately, these simple concepts can be lost in the wake of parental pressure to succeed and be the best. This paper will discuss different effects that parental pressure can have on children athletes such as burnout, anxiety and expectations and injury. No parent signs their kids up to play sports with the hope that their child will one day hate the chosen sport. They sign them up with the expectations that their child will have fun, learn to be socially skilled or have a healthier childhood.

Life Lessons Taken From Anne Lamott All the time I hear people ponder the what if's of yesterday when they could be enjoying the now of today. Life is too short to wonder what could have been but, the problem is that most people are too afraid to start; they picture the failure that can result when daring to live. Everyone is so afraid of this failure they don't realize that all failure is temporary. They can learn and grow from failing which in a sense is true success. If they don't start and risk failing, they'll never know.
The program gives you challenges and opportunities to become a better citizen. The instructors are not like teachers, they put in an effort for you to actually try and build up. You do leadership tasks; you help younger teens, participate in things that other teens don't get to participate in. The class isn't boring, you’re always learning about new things, we do weekly current events, and uniform wear. Wearing uniform teaches us responsibility; we have to make sure that our uniform is in order, and has everything on correctly.
When you refuse to ask for help while facing a momentous task you set yourself up to fail. You start to think it is impossible and give up rather than asking for the help you needed all along. Pokemon teaches you, at a very young age, that it is not only okay to ask for help, but that it is a good thing. It shows that you are more motivated to get the task done and your pride is not standing in your way. I can still remember the first Pokemon game I played.

In today’s world, parents are teaching their children to just have fun and not to care about winning. Children today compete in sports, who has the best grades, best clothes, and the newest electronics. Kids should always have fun, but competition is what makes it fun.

I believe a performance improvement programme is for any athlete from beginner to professional, who is willing to improve their performance in the sport in which they are training for. A performance improvement programme is relevant to me as it is what allows me to record and measure my progress and it gives me something to work towards in the long term. I have
