Suggestions for Improving My Study Skills The three specific studying tips and suggestions I chose and are in dire need of my improvement are: 1. improve my time management skills and prioritize my work (what are the most important items to complete and what can wait)? Plan out a study schedule and follow it. Protect the time of the day I should study best (do not accept phone calls, E-mails, or any other distractions during this time). 2. When I’m in class, I need to ask questions, make comments, and participate. Even if I consider myself to be shy, think of it as a challenge and a great learning experience. 3. Start preparing for the exams 2 weeks before the date they will be given. The first suggestion I chose was to improve my time management skills and prioritize my work. I’m very well organized/neat and I have no problem prioritizing my work. It’s managing my time and having a set schedule on what are the most important items/ things to complete and what can wait. Like when I should do my homework? When should I study? Getting distracted for instance: on social networks, texting, and receiving phone calls/ e-mails. When I should be focusing on the homework and or studying for my assignment before the next class session. I procrastinate and wait ‘til the last minute instead of putting my distractions and social life aside. For example: when I am doing homework and I get a phone call from a friend. Instead of me answering and telling him/her I will call them back because I am busy doing homework…I through my homework/studying aside and get caught up with gossip and start focusing and putting our conversation first instead of stopping it before it happens and let them know I’ll catch up with you later I have a assignment that is due and hang up. I also have a habit of multi tasking and doing way to many things at once like: cleaning, cooking dinner, doing
