Significance of Art in Public Schools In public schools today, art is a subject that is not that important but should be in a child’s education. Many public schools do not encourage more use of art because they believe that art will be constructive in other areas such as business or manufacturing. If art is educated in a way that is encouraged productively, students might succeed in improving in other learning skills you would need in life. By having art in public schools, students will be able to improve both their discipline and self-assurance. When working on art projects or assignments, students are learning to discipline themselves. They learn how to work and focus on a project in a short amount of time without being disturbed and how to do it in a short time. In our world today learning how to do jobs that involve continuous activity such as making video clips, media clips, or commercials can be always be helpful. By learning this, students will improve on studying in a quiet environment and taking tests in a limited amount of time. Art will also advance a student’s assurance or confidence in their selves. If a student sees that their hands-on work is being recognized it will give them the confidence to present projects to friends, parents, or even employers when looking for careers. Students will not be ashamed or shy about anything they present because they will already have the experience. Art holds great significance in public education because it helps students improve in other areas of their life. Students will gain self-discipline while doing projects in a timely manner. They will also improve in their confidence as they will be proud of their projects and be able to present it to anyone.
