The Importance of Media Media is the most powerful tool of communication; it creates all different kinds of exposure to a mass audience about all the different economic, global issues etc. Within the media world, there are some flaws with things such as spreading news that is not real, or things that have not or yet to happen within the world, creating panic in some people. We all watch television, listen to the radio, read newspapers and magazines. When you think of television news, you think of pictures, television news demands visual presentation to get the message across. Television seems to have become to most dominant source of entertainment and a primary source of news. There are many advantages and disadvantages when it comes to the television being a main source of entertainment and news provider. Some advantages, television permits you to reach large numbers of people in a short amount of time. Independent local stations offer the opportunity for local news coverage. Television being an image building medium, it allows you to capture the message with sight, sound and motion. The radio is one universal source of media that can be enjoyed by many people at work, in their car, at home etc. at any given time of day. The source of media that the radio offers is a wide range of public possibilities. This form of media is a mobile medium, so its suited for people who are on the move a lot during the day. With the radio, you can take it anywhere, and you can still be informed with the local news, etc. When many of us are listening to the radio however, we are more than likely doing something else as well, so the ads on the radio needs to work hard in order to catch the attention of their listener.
