Persian Empire The Persian Empire was one of not just a great military conquering empire but one of immense beauty and technological engineering of it’s kind and age. This empire was built on engineering feats never before seen from roadways to canals, to even finding water and filter water from rocks Persia was also ruled by some of the greatest kings of all time, from Cyrus the Great to Darius the III. This vast empire was ruled all the way from North Africa to Northern India or otherwise know as Asia minor. One of the first kings of Persia was Cyrus the Great. Cyrus knew that one thing they needed to become one of the greatest empires of all time was to be able to channel water to there empire, so Cyrus was the first to come up with the first way of getting water out of rocks.
Han and Roman Technology The Hans and Romans were both great societies in the ancient times. Innovative as well as super powers in old civilization, both societies created new technology that was ahead of their time. The Hans created agricultural implements that were well made and functional, while the Romans created aqueducts that carried water to different sorts of places. However, the Romans gave some effort towards new technology, but the Hans were generally more serious and hardworking than the Romans toward newer and more innovative technology. The Hans were very enthusiastic about the idea of new and useful technological advances.
Fash was a very interesting book that catalogued the history of the Maya from the Preclassic Period (2000 B.C.E to 250 AD) to the Postclassic Period (900 AD- 1200 AD) including the collapse of the Classic Period centers in the southern lowlands, to the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores in 1519 AD. The first section of the book talks about Copan as being the classic Maya center describing Copan as “the Athens of the New World” and also explains the importance of archeological studies at the site. Copan has more hieroglyphic inscriptions and other sculpted monuments than any other Maya ruin, or any other site in the New World. The principal group of ruins, or site core, consists of a series of large buildings constructed around open courtyards which frequently contained stelae and alters. The principal groups contained two basic parts; the north included many low-lying plazas and to the south, the upraised courtyards and constituent structures were built upon the Acropolis .

In addition, the empire also developed the transportation of water throughout the city through the construction of aqueducts, which were canals. Likewise, the Han Dynasty made advancements in the distribution of water: there were water ways, canals, and pools that were inspected by hydraulic engineers. Water was also used to power a blowing-engine. Because of the advancements that were made, the Han Dynasty is regarded by historians as the “Golden Age.” Similarly, the Romans created a large empire that stretched from Europe to the Middle East. Because of the vastness of both empires, water and technology were heavily relied upon, yet unlike the Han officials, the upper-class Romans had a negative attitude towards technology.
He had churches, dams, bridges, and fortifications built throughout the empire. These three elements of Justinian's passion came together when he rebuilt the Hagia Sophia. This magnificent cathedral is still one of the most famous and beautiful buildings in the world
The Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, echoing the shape of the mountains surrounding the valley, served as focal points for Teotihuacan's urban layout. Beneath the pyramids are earlier structures; perhaps even tombs of Teotihuacan rulers are to be found within their stone walls. When the Pyramid of the Sun was completed circa 200 A.D., it was some 63 meters tall and 215 meters square. One of the largest structures ever built in the ancient Americas, its aspect today is the result of reconstruction and consolidation carried out in the early part of the twentieth century. Excavations in 1971 directly under the Pyramid of the Sun revealed a tunnel-like cave, ending in a cloverleaf-shaped set of chambers, apparently the scene of numerous ancient fire and water rituals.
Secondly, the need for steady water supplies had a great deal of impact on the economies of ancient civilizations. In many places, such Rome and China, thousands upon thousands of workers were needed to build the giant aqueducts and irrigation canals. Likewise, large numbers of workers were also required to maintain these structures once they were completed. These massive projects put people to work, as well as lowered the rate of unemployment, and history shows that economies
