Employing the right personnel in a company is extremely important. With out the correct people for the job working for the company, things can go wrong and the company could be thrown of balance. This is why; when a company is recruiting, they take time and effort in making sure they have the perfect person for they job. As they see time and money spent on recruitment is money saved later on in the company if the employee makes mistakes. Also, sometimes companies look to cut spending in the company to try and increase profit, company’s communications or investor relations departments seems an obvious way to save cash, but in fact this can lead to more money being lost than gained. Internally employees communicating to each other can make mistakes, using emails, telephones, video conferencing and face-to-face meetings. If the wrong information is given to different employees around the company this can lead to: · Time Delays – on employer could tell another that a certain document has to be finished by a set date but the date might be wrong and it could be needed for earlier. · Waste of Resources – information printed for a meeting, instead of printing out 5 copies of the document they print 15 instead wasting money and resources. · Money – all information that is conveyed to others that is wrong in turn becomes money wasted because they have to spend money to rectify the mistakes made by others. If mistakes are made externally this can damage the reputation and the image of the business. For example if you hire someone for a retail store but they do not have experience in retail they may not know the prices of the stock, they may not be able to recommend to customers what product to buy. If a customer ask them how much an item of clothing costs and they tell the customer £15 but then when they get to the till they find out it costs £20 this could put the
