CONFIDENTIAL To: Board of Directors Subject: The Importance of an HR Department Every company, business and place of work regardless how big or small must have some form of HR department to deal with the typical day to day issues that come with employing staff. The HR Department is to maintain a fair and positive work environment for all employees regardless of their position within the organisation. The HR department has a duty to develop the potential for each employee that will create job satisfaction and career opportunities for individuals which will provide maximum benefit to the organisation. We also try to make sure at the employee welfare and employee relationships are positive. The HR department is also there for employees who are unhappy in their place of work to general non-working issues. The HR department for employees is usually their first port of call. i. One of the main objectives of the HR Department is to provide employees with the correct training, development and knowledge that will motivate the employees performance in the most effective and efficient manner. This will promote individual success and increase overall value to the organisation. The HR Department is also there to inspire and encourage a high level of employee morale through recognition, effective communication, and providing constant feedback. Communicate and encourage open discussions with employees on all matters relating to their work. Review employee performance, with clear objectives and provide positive feedback to ensure continued development, with the objective of achieving further commitment, and productivity. ii. As an HR Department we also focus on recruitment and selection hiring.
