MAAME EFUA ANNOBIL 10415400 PHCL 101 MONDAY,5TH NOVEMBER,2012 THE CONCEPT OF THE ORIGIN OF HUMANITY In our world today, there are broadly two main views about the origins of humanity. One is based on religious studies. It talks primarily on faith and the amazing powers of the creator -God. In the Bible, specifically Genesis, a whole portion of it talks about the creation of the world which brings us to the creation of man. The Bible says that God created the world in seven days, at first there was darkness, then came light, animals and plants then eventually the creation of man from the dust. Adam was the first man created and from him came the first woman Eve. The second view is naturalistic. Theories of human evolution have been thrown in to disarray by ancient human remains found in Georgia. The skulls unearthed near Tbilisi, are from 1.8 million years ago, 800,000 years ago before modern humanity’s ancestors were believed to have first moved out of Africa. The find “scientist say”, suggest our ancient ancestors evolved into modern humans in Eurasia before migrating back to Africa. The immediate ancestors of humans were members of the genus Australopithecus (southern ape). The Australopithecus were biologically similar enough to be classified as members of the same biological tribe Homini. Researchers believe the early humans found had brains around half the size of those of modern humans. They walked upright and were proficient tool makers. The Dmanis hominins were the earliest representatives of our own genus –Homo, outside Africa. A Georgia professor said they might be ancestral to all later Homo erectus populations which would suggest a Eurasian origin of homo
