What impresses you about Norton Lilly International? What has accounted for Norton Lilly’s success over the past 150+ years? What aspects of Norton Lilly do you find unimpressive? * The most impressive thing about Norton Lilly is their ability to stay in existence for 150+ years, because nowadays there really aren’t that many companies that have been around that long. It’s a testimony to the company’s growth and willingness to change over the decades to keep being a leader in the industry that is getting smaller. Their success comes from their changes, seeing & knowing they needed a culture change & willing to let things pay off. The most unimpressive thing about Norton Lilly is how long it took them to finally make the change & bring Jim Burton in. 2. What happened in 2006 to handicap the company? * After coming off five years of steady growth, Norton Lilly was handicapped by a number of problems. A series of acquisitions, joint ventures, & internal expansion led to their problems.
