The growth of technology has expanded throughout the years. The technology which is just now beginning to be manipulated and harnessed is affecting the minds of small children and adolescents in ways that could be harmful. It is affecting our immediate future. The internet and the distraction that affects many have had a huge impact on many users over the years; to the point where one depends on technology too much as a resource instead of using one’s thinking ability. Before internet became such an effect on users, many were not influence and able to think originality. However, today and speaking for the future, the internet is coming a universal medium where many of the information needed is found directly through a computer. An example for the most used course to find information is Google. Google has become the greatest data base of the internet but it effects one’s thinking ability to think for themselves. “The more they use the web, the more they have to fight to stay focused on long pieces of writing.” (Page 2, Is Google Making Us stupid). When one reads a text from the web, it eventually becomes unresponsive; many develop a short attention span because there are many options and advertisements on the internet. The passage found on Google are usually either a long amount of text which can cause the readers to become bored. The text may also be too short, such as a summary, which cannot provide the amount of information needed for the user. Though, many would chose to search up information from the internet rather than using alternative such as novel, books, for reference books. Internet has made the public lazy. “We can expect as well that the circuits woven by our use of the net will be different from those woven by our reading of books and other printed works.” Before computers had such a big impact on society, many would reference to books and novel to
